Re: Very high pu/item rakion account!!
I feel the urge to give you a second (or in this case third, because Falcon did what I wanted to do first) opinion. Here's my two cents:
I have to completely agree with what Falcon is saying, because I've seen Rakion accounts decrease in value drastically as well. Owning a Rakion account over the past few years is like owning a car. It's value just decreases to 50% or below it's original market (whatever money you pumped in) value. Personally, I've played since late '05 / early '06, and I've had a lot of experience in this game. I've gone from the "No I won't ever charge cash for this game" phase into the "Alright maybe only 20k cash" phase, all the way into the "Alright, this is getting addicting, I need another 20k", until I've officially hit the "Alright, I need another 100k" phase. With all of my cash charges comes a fair amount of internal debate in my head. I know for a fact that whatever I pump into this game won't ever come back out in monetary value (ie. I'm not expecting to break even). Rather, the way I've justified my cash charges is that I get internal satisfaction from having a good account (ie. I'm spending the money to enjoy myself).
As for the reasons for the depreciation of account value over the past few years, it's simply lower demand. When Rakion was in it's golden days (2006 into 2007, in my opinion), there were thousands of players on at once. Servers would actually be FULL. Then, as Softnyx became more and more desperate for cash (with their wave of cash-dependent events), people started leaving the game, and serverload hit an all time low during this summer ($300 in event boxes for a king...ridiculous). It has only been recently (with this ongoing Christmas event, which will probably never end because Softnyx realizes how much profit they can accumulate by making event shop prices reasonable) that the servers started to bloom again. Long story short: when a lot of people are playing the game, the account value will go up a little, but nowadays you will rarely, if ever, break even for a rakion account unless you just obtained so much free crap that increases the value of the account.
But anyway, I've been speaking too long as it is. I'll cut this short by saying:
I think repairman's offer was a good offer. It's not the best offer, but it's not a bad nor mediocre offer either.
As for $40 for the sweeties, I'd say you can/should negotiate to make it $50 if you were going to sell the pieces. +15 sweeties generally cost approximately 20k cash to make, assuming a somewhat lucky day. So +15, +15 and +10 would add up to $50 if you were giving the buyer a fair deal.
Remember that repairman is like any other buyer (can't blame him, either). He wants to find the best deal possible. As a seller, remember the golden rule that we all probably learned in 4th grade: Supply and Demand. Look around this forum. Look at how many people are seeking +15 sweeties. If I had to make a very good guess, I'd say that the top two things people are looking for on this forum are +15 lovely/sweeties, and pure cash. It is very possible for you to sell those sweeties for $50+. I offered a level 32 king musk (value ~$50-$65, including the deflation due to the cheapness of prices this event) to my friend for ONE +15 sweety, and he declined my offer on the basis that it cost him a lot. I quote him when I say "I had to give up things that I didn't want to [to get my +15 sweeties]."
And my final thought: Although I do agree with Falcon's point about the depreciation of rakion accounts, I absolutely agree with you that $235 is a steal for that account.
Summary:
1. Supply and demand.
2. Depreciation of accounts, yes it's true....but $150 is nowhere near what I'd accept either.
