[7/27] Disallowing the Use of Proxies When Accessing R.Biz

[This announcement hasn't been discussed with Falcon yet, but due to a string of very recent incidents, I felt the need to create this thread first, in case I am unable to reach Falcon in a timely fashion. ]

We, the staff at R.biz, would like to announce that the use of proxies to access this website is now strictly forbidden. This includes registration and posting. If we find that you registered or posted while using a proxy after the time of this post, your account will be automatically banned.

We see absolutely no reason for anyone to have to use a proxy in order to access this forum. The only exception to this is if you were mistakenly IP banned. If you are mistakenly IP banned, then you are welcome to create a new account with the use of a proxy, and PM an administrator/moderator about the issue. We will then look into the alleged mistake and work to resolve the issue. If you make a new account using a proxy, but you don't approach an administrator/moderator about a potential IP-ban conflict, we will most likely just ban your account since you did not speak up about any mistakes.

It's also been brought to my attention that there are certain idiots out there who think that by using a proxy, we won't be able to figure out your identity. We have already successfully identified the important "proxied" members and had them dealt with. Regardless, identification no longer matters. If you are found using a proxy to access this site for a reason that is not extenuating, we will ban you.

If you already have a history of using proxies with your biz account, stop using it unless you feel that you have "extenuating circumstances." If this is the case, you must approach a staff member ASAP and will work to resolve the issue. For those members who already have a proxy history with their biz accounts, we will be running a thorough investigation and if we find that you have malicious intents with your biz account and proxy usage, we will ban you.

With that said, I would also just like to remind everyone that having multiple accounts on R.Biz is not allowed. Even if you are not abusing feedback or anything like that, we strongly discourage you from having more than one active biz account. This holds especially true if you were already banned from this forum once. If you were banned form this forum once and you come back on a new account, that will only invoke frustration and dislike when your multiple-accounting is detected.

@Jerry: Why can't your internet randomly not be able to access biz..? If you're talking about the downtime that biz experiences sometimes, that's not a problem on your end. That's a server thing.


@all: Proxies are used to hide your IP address. If you're not doing anything special to access this website (like having to access another website in order to access this site), odds are that you're fine.

I believe the problem with the site not being able to load in certain countries had been resolved. Please let me know if you are still experiencing this.

Also, I'd like to add that the Spammers Paradise forum is open to guests and doesn't require registration so if you can't login for some reason or feel that you were mistakenly banned, feel free to make a thread there.

Somoene under a proxy (simplicity) just attempted a chargeback on me.

No-tolerance policy on proxies now in effect...Unless you have a damn good reason for being on one. IP bans aren't issued often so if you're IP banned, there's a damn good reason you're IP banned.

I'm going to give specific instructions to the mods to look out for proxied members and to ban them, no questions asked. My buddy did some preliminary testing for me, and I can say (beyond a reasonable doubt) that the person using these proxies is Jeff, and no one else other than Jeff is currently using proxies on this forum.

That means:

1) That idiot is dumber than I thought. I go and call him out on his static IP address, he then mocks me for making that claim, and oh look, his static IP prevents him from accessing this forum without a proxy. /win.

2) That dumbass is so close to getting in trouble it's giving me an erection. I now have the proof necessary to prove he's committing harassment on top of the fraud.
